Scooby-Doo's reboot found two of the protagonists in Zac Efron and Amanda Seyfried, who will play, respectively, the roles (voices) of Fred and Daphne
The reboot of Warner Bros. Animation's Scooby-Doo is currently in the casting phase, and now it seems that the entire Mystery Inc. gang has been assembled. According to a report by Deadline, Zac Efron and Amanda Seyfried were chosen as voices, respectively, by Fred and Daphne in the film SCOOB.
Efron and Seyfried join the previously announced vocal cast of Scooby-Doo, composed by Will Forte, who will be Shaggy, and Gina Rodriguez, the voice of Velma. Frank Welker will return to give the voice of the super Scoob! For now, Warner Bros has plans to release the film in May 2020, while the director is Tony Cervone.
For those who do not remember it, the two Scooby-Doo live actions that came out a few years ago were written by the Guardians of the Galaxy director, James Gunn and the protagonists on that occasion were Sarah Michelle Gellar, Linda Cardellini, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Matthew Lillard. The 2002 film synopsis read:
The famous Danish dog Scooby-Doo and his group of investigating friends, Fred, Daphne, Shaggy and Velma, are invited by the owner of the famous holiday village Spooky Island to solve some mysterious ghost appearances.
