Samsung Galaxy Home, the first smart speaker of the South Korean manufacturer announced now nine months, has been made to wait quite a long time, seriously risking to end up in oblivion, but apparently is finally ready to make its arrival on the market.
The first smart speaker to give voice to Bixby, the well-known and controversial virtual assistant made by Samsung, as you may recall, was officially announced at the same event that had as its main purpose the current king of phablets Galaxy Note 9 As for the date of actual availability of Galaxy Home on the market there are for the moment no official confirmation from Samsung, but it seems that the time is now near.
In light of how long the device has been made to wait and above all the fact that over the last few months Bixby's abilities have not made the hoped for quality leap, many had begun to think that the South Korean producer had decided to eliminate the smart speaker from your list before even letting us in.
Apparently this last forecast could soon be contradicted by the facts: according to SamMobile sources, in fact, Samsung would currently be putting the finishing touches on the Galaxy Home companion app, thus confirming the intention to really bring it to the market the aforementioned intelligent speaker. The app in question will be useful for the simplified initial setup of the device but will also be used to manage it and the various Bixby services.
Samsung's intentions, Galaxy Home should not be an Amazon Echo-style smart speaker, instead aiming to offer a high-quality audio experience thanks to the skillful hand of AKG. Obviously to enrich the smart experience there will be compatibility with the entire ecosystem of connected Samsung appliances, with the ability to control all devices in the SmartThings family using voice commands.
The CEO of the South Korean giant DJ Koh had spoken of a debut a couple of months ago during the month of April, but that promise was evidently not maintained and, if on the one hand it is already beginning to talk about a second generation model, perhaps the moment of the first model is finally near.
